About my current job
Rezdy is a fast-growing SaaS business focused on helping tours and activities professionals get more bookings, increase their distribution and grow their business. My role is to define and drive the marketing strategy for international growth, lead and build the sales and marketing teams, and manage external consultants and suppliers as relevant.
How did my education influence my career path?
EP is relevant to many different career options - whether directly in terms of role requirements, or indirectly by equipping people with problem-solving skills and emotional intelligence. In my case, it evoked a broad awareness and appreciation of what influences human behaviour, which proved to be very relevant both in developing strategies for marketing and advertising, but also in relating to and getting the best out of many different characters in varied working environments.
Do you have a lesson or advice that you'd give to current students/researchers at EP?
Don't think about anything you are learning in isolation - look for how things relate to your daily life and the world around you - bring the theory back to a more practical context. Think about how you can use the information to change your own behaviour and/or to influence others. The 'ah ha' moments don't come from the learning and the knowledge retention, but from the application of that knowledge in ways that are meaningful to you and others, even if at first seemingly unrelated. Once I got into the habit of knowledge applied, it became both easier and more exciting to learn and opened up a whole new way of looking at what I was being exposed to during my time.
