About my current job
I conduct research projects to inform policy. The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) is a social purpose organisation that applies lessons from academic research in psychology and other behavioural sciences to the design of policies and services, so that they work better for people. I have worked on a range of education projects at BIT, including increasing girls' uptake of STEM A levels, improving FE students' motivation and engagement in maths GCSE resit classes, boosting students' engagement with careers advice, and supporting teachers to use evidence-based approaches in their teaching.
Did you have a favourite tutor/lecturer/prof, and how did they inspire you?
Kia Nobre has had a massive influence on who I am. She taught me to think more critically, write more clearly and to be passionate and collaborative in everything I do. She has been an incredible source of support ever since my undergrad days, and has shown me what outstanding mentoring looks like. I am so lucky to have met her.
How did friends made during your time at EP influence your life?
Friends I made during my time at EP have enriched my life and made me a better person. I still count them among my best friends. And they are doing a range of fascinating things now.
