About my current job
As an associate professor, I give lectures and supervise students who research a variety of topics in psychology. I conduct research on developmental psychology, especially language and literacy development in children.
Fond memories of my time at EP
The weekly departmental tea gathering was my favourite event. The tea gathering created a friendly atmosphere that allowed me to interact with people in the department. It was a great opportunity for us to get away from our desks and talk to others. We talked about different things, from daily life events to research.
Did you have a favourite tutor/lecturer/prof, and how did they inspire you?
Undoubtedly, my D.Phil supervisor, Professor Dorothy Bishop, was my favourite professor. She was very knowledgeable and kind. She could do so many things and even draw pictures for her tests on children's language ability. Whenever I got confused about my research, Prof Bishop provided useful advice and helped solve the problems. I remember that I always felt relieved and encouraged after meeting her. Although she was super busy, she celebrated the birthdays for all OSCCI teammates without missing any one of us. She bought us birthday presents, coordinated birthday cards and had birthday lunches with us, and even invited us to her home for Christmas dinner.
